The Touristic Salt Express, which will carry its passengers from the past to the future, makes its maiden voyage

It was reported that the Touristic Salt Express, which aims to introduce the historical and cultural beauties of Çankırı to local and foreign visitors, will make its first trip from Ankara on May 18.

In a statement made by the Northern Anatolia Development Agency (KUZKA), it was stated that the Touristic Salt Express departing from Ankara promises a brand new experience for those who love daily train travel on weekends.

In the statement, it was stated that the Touristic Salt Express is the continuation of the Tenezzüh (Excursion) Train services carried out 90 years ago in Çankırı, The Touristic Salt Express will carry its passengers from the past to the future. It is aimed to increase tourism mobility in the region with train services organized in cooperation with Çankırı Governorship, Çankırı Municipality and Northern Anatolia Development Agency (KUZKA).

The first trip of the Touristic Salt Express will depart from Ankara Station at 07.50 on Saturday, May 18, 2024. After a pleasant journey, it will take its passengers to the past with Çankırı’s historical streets, fascinating Underground Salt City, boutique museums and local flavors. The touristic train, which has a capacity of approximately 250 passengers, will return to Ankara at 19.40 pm on the same day after completing the Çankırı program.”

In the statement stating that visitors who want to participate in the Touristic Salt Express tours to be held on May 18, May 25, June 1 and June 8 can buy tickets from travel agencies, it was emphasized that KUZKA will provide support to group A travel agencies affiliated to TÜRSAB that will organize a tour program for the Touristic Salt Express within the scope of the “2024 Discover the Western Black Sea Alternative Support Program”.
