
More than 1.2 million people have visited the ‘Göbekli Tepe’ exhibition opened at the Colosseum to date
The ‘Göbekli Tepe’ exhibition, showcased in the iconic Colosseum of Ancient Rome, attracted great interest with 1.2 million visitors, bringing together history enthusiasts and culture lovers.
This impressive exhibition provides visitors with information about the discovery and significance of Göbekli Tepe, while also immersing them in the mystical atmosphere of the ancient era.
This unique structure, uncovered through research conducted by archaeologists, is considered one of the oldest centers of belief and life in human history. The exhibition showcases Göbekli Tepe’s stone structures, symbolic figures, and other artifacts obtained from the excavation site for the enjoyment of visitors. Additionally, the exhibition is enriched with interactive screens and multimedia presentations, offering participants the opportunity to embark on a historical journey.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that more than 1.2 million people have visited the exhibition ‘Göbeklitepe: The Mystery of a Sacred Space,’ which opened on October 24 at Rome’s iconic Colosseum.
In a post on his social media account, Minister Ersoy stated:
‘Göbeklitepe, the zero point of history, welcomes visitors at the Colosseum, one of the world’s most iconic structures. Our exhibition ‘Göbeklitepe: The Mystery of a Sacred Space,’ opened at the Colosseum, has attracted great interest since its first day. More than 1 million 242 thousand people have visited our exhibition from October 24 to today. We are very proud to promote Türkiye’s unique cultural heritage in the heart of the world. Our exhibition will be open to visitors in the capital of Italy until March.’
